I grew up with Barbie® doll in the 1960's...my days filled with imaginative
play and a deep love of Barbie®. Like many, however, when I reached a certain
age I thought I had outgrown her, and packed up all my dolls with their
belongings, and gave them all away. I have always regretted doing so.
Not so many years later, my children grew up with Barbie® doll, and in turn
their children love her as well. In 1995, while shopping for a present for one
of my grandchildren, I saw Rapunzel Barbie®, from the Children's Collector™
Series, at Toys R Us, and fell in love with Barbie all over again. I have been
collecting her ever since, and began to dream of opening a Barbie® doll shop
with my older daughter. Time has taken my daughter's dreams in new directions,
but mine remained the same.
I wanted to present Collectors with an outstanding variety of new Barbie®
dolls to choose from, and I wanted others to be able to experience that
falling-in-love-with-Barbie®-all-over-again feeling. And it was my desire to
do so in an intimate setting. I remembered the tea parties I had when I was a
child, and imagined grown-ups having tea and visiting in the company of
beautiful dolls. My shop is in what was oft-referred to as a
"dollhouse" or "mother-in-law" house built in the late
1920's. I chose this location for its personality and charm.
In the winter, you can stop by my shop, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate,
and be enchanted by the newest Barbie® dolls released. In summertime, chilled
sun tea awaits, as does a moment to relax by the pond while conversation of the
latest Barbie® news fills the air.
I have been a mom, a veterinarian's assistant, a disc jockey, and an artist
whose work has exhibited up and down the West Coast. Creativity runs deep in
me. I do home remodeling projects with my own two hands, and landscaping feeds
my soul...as you will see when you visit my shop.
Barbie® doll has had many interests and careers over the wonderful years she
has graced our lives. And a wonderful adage as well.
"We Girls Can Do
Anything!™
If you plan a visit to the wide-open of South Central Oregon that borders on
the high desert country, call ahead for directions. I would love to see
you...and Barbie® awaits.
